Annual IWI Christmas Bazaar - The best holiday-season event in Istanbul

Forty years ago, the IWI began to promote social, cultural, intellectual exchange and friendship among women of all nationalities living in Istanbul.

Our organization also supports many charities in Istanbul. Two of our main annual charity fundraising events are the Christmas Bazaar, a unique and fun-filled day of holiday spirit, and the Spring Ball, an exclusive and chic evening gala. The net proceeds raised are allocated to the IWI's charity projects, focused on helping Istanbul women and children in need.

The Christmas Bazaar serves our members and others in holiday fun and spirit, but it is also IWI's most important charity fundraising event and one of a kind in Istanbul. Now eagerly awaited and well-known, in both the international and local community, the IWI Christmas Bazaar was once the only event where imported Christmas goods as well as homemade delicacies could be found in a true international seasonal ambiance. Today it has grown to include a Bazaar Court with about 60 stalls of goods and an international Food Court with festive food offered by top Istanbul restaurants as well as with homemade seasonal delicacies offered by national groups.

Every year, stall holders, national groups and visitors line up and await the opening with excitement and this year's edition will be no exception.

The IWI Christmas Bazaar is a collaboration between social groups from different countries, such as Belgium, France, Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands, Turkey and the United States, as well as commercial stallholders, International schools and a limited number of IWI supported charity organizations. The Christmas Bazaar welcomes approximately more than 3000 visitors in the 4 hours that it is open!

Becoming a Stallholder:

The Christmas Bazaar is held at the end of November. Space is limited, interested stallholders, please be advised to contact the IWI Events Coordinator, Eleonore Gamard, at least 3 months in advance (deadline for applications is September 12th, 2011).

There are requirements regarding the content of stalls and the IWI reserves the right to select the stalls that apply. For more information or to receive an application, please send an email to iwi.xmasbazaar@gmail.com.
